Coming Up: Spring Crew

Spring Rowing at Mount Baker begins this Wednesday, January 30.  All varsity athletes will begin at 3:45 pm while novice athletes will begin at 4:00 pm.  If you have not yet registered, online links and barcodes are listed below for each squad.  Online registration will be available until Tuesday (tomorrow) night at midnight, thereafter, registration can only be made through the office.  Also listed below are all the relevant paperwork and information items if you have not yet turned them in.

Coming Up: Fall Rowing

Our summer session ended yesterday with a great day of novice and varsity mixed racing.  This means it is time to look ahead to the upcoming fall rowing season which begins on Thursday, September 7 and ends on November 5.  Many of you have already signed up, but we encourage everyone to sign up now, especially novices since those squads have been known to fill up.  Here are the links and bar codes for the fall season:

The Mount Baker Boating Advisory Council  invites you to come watch the Seafair festivities on Sunday.  Information is below:

Mount Baker Boathouse Sunday Seafair Celebration 
Sunday, August 5th 9:30am-5:30pm

Join us at the Inaugural MBRSC Seafair Celebration in our new Boathouse Event Space! 

Celebrate Seafair in style with extraordinary views of the Seafair Air Show and the Hydroplane Races from our new boathouse meeting room and view decks. Enjoy food and beverages with your friends and teammates throughout the day in the Boathouse. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Boathouse or through SPARC.

Boathouse Celebration Tickets: $40 (Must also purchase Seafair and Pit Pass Ticket to access the boathouse)

Coming Up: Opening Day

The Mount Baker Boys and Girls V8’s have qualified for the Opening Day Regatta held in the Montlake Cut at the University of Washington. Tentatively, the Girls are scheduled to race in the Girls High School 8+ event at 10:54, while the boys are scheduled to race in the Boys Club 8+ event at 11:02

Coming Up: Everett Tri-Meet

Coming up on Saturday, April 7 is the Mt Baker, Everett, Sammamish Scrimmage (M.E.S.S.).  This is a more laid back event which will involve several shorter pieces rather than one single distance.  The idea is to allow crews to make adjustments and improvements between each piece.  Coaches will be on the water during the racing to watch and give feedback.  We find that these events are extremely beneficial as we head into our second half of the competitive season.

On Saturday, March 31, all Mount Baker Varsity athletes will take part in the Husky Open Regatta.  This is a 2000m race through the Montlake Cut over the same course as Opening Day.

Shamrock Invitational, Day 1

Four Mount Baker Crews each raced twice on the first day of the Shamrock invitational in Redwood Shored, CA.

The morning races started with all crews racing against Bay Area powerhouse Marin who showed their speed by sweeping Baker in all four races. Results are below.

Coming Up: Green Lake Spring Regatta

All junior athletes, except those racing at the Shamrock Invitational, will compete at the Green Lake Spring Regatta on Green Lake.  This is a 1000m sprint regatta which includes many of the top regional teams, and it marks our first regatta of the season. Continue reading
